Dinacharya is the way to maintain balance in everything one does in a day. From dawn to desk, every moment, one must realize and worship his inner self, to lead a a ‘full’ life. It is the fine tuning of your body-mind complex in order to maintain harmony with time, space and the mother-nature. Daily routine varies as seasons change, and such information regarding seasonal lifestyle corrections are known as ritucharya (rithu=season).
For every living being, the term ‘survival’ means the art and science of adaptability, the ability for making intelligent adjustments to cope with the surrounding environment. This message of Ayurveda is so simple: every substance has some qualities and ‘understanding’ these qualities is important in order to make appropriate choices, which decides the sustainability of any being upon this planet earth.
When choosing food, a drink, or a walk, caution must be maintained. An understanding and acceptance of balanced diet, supporting climate and ethical living is the means for perfect survival, in other words, the pathway to health in its ‘whole-ness’.
How does one live their everyday life?
According to an ancient sage, Ayurveda says: “One should not involve in any sin pertaining to the body, speech or mind. Those who have no means of livelihood, are suffering from health issues, and who are afflicted by grief should be helped to the utmost extent. Each existence, even the insects and ants should be treated with compassion and kindness, just as one’s own self.”
